Looking for a after deer season quail sub-lease around in the Rolling Plains region. it will only be my brother and I. He lives in Amarillo and has a young lab while I live in Weatherford and have a young brittany. At most, our oldest children might accompany us for a hunt. Of course, any of the leasers are welcome to hunt with us as well. Always welcome the company!

We are not bird killers, more dog workers. We won't cause the quail population to go extinct. I was tought early on to evaluate the covey rise prior to pulling the trigger!

We aren't looking for a place to set up camp. Would more than likely be day trips.

I have been taught to leave the place looking better than it was when we got there. We don't leave spend hulls or trash on the ground.

Personal history? I'm a civil engineer that grew up in the Childress area quail hunting and working brittanys. Father was an avid quail hunter and field trialer. Tought me to respect the land. My brother is a pastor in Amarillo and grew up hunting quail and pheasant in the panhandle. We are just looking for a place between us to do some dog work, expose the kids to some bird hunting, and hopefully make some good memories.

We are not looking for a place to try to lease out from under someone. Just a place to sub-lease and help pay for all you deer hunters feed cost We have no desire to take on a deer lease ourselves.

Seems like everyone is always afraid of people trying to get in and lease out from under them. We don't have the $$$$ to even think about that.

Thanks for your time!
Bret

hello

I've got a ranch west of Channing that we are looking to lease for quail. The population has really come back strong this year. I see 8-10 coveys an hour just driving the feed roads.(mostly blues) It's 11,000 acres but we could break it up a couple different ways. Let me know if you are interested, or if you would like to come out and look around, I know you would not be disappointed in the number of quail you will see, But this may not be the area y'all are looking to be in; however, if you know anyone in the Amarillo area looking for a lease please forward the info.

thanks
Ben

December bump and update.

Now looking for more of a day lease situation for me only, preferably closer to the Weatherford area. My brother is content with the public hunting available to him in the panhandle area and doesn't look like he is going to pitch in. I'd rather find a place I could take my 1 dog and work her on birds. Based on my last two outings, I'm definately not going to do any damage to the bird population blush
