I have a Stiller and it is great but my opinion the Defiance feels smoother

The 6.8 is the #1 choice for hunting deer and hogs in an AR15

You're splitting hairs. Either will exceed expectations.

Stiller is made right here in Wylie, Tx. If that means anything to you.

I have owned both and IMO stiller is not even in defiances league. But if you want the best buy a big horn :-)

Doubt you'll be dissapointed in either one. Both are fantastic pieces of hardware.

I have a 7mm STW built on a Defiance action with a Brux barrel that shoots better than I do. I also had a .30-06 built, for my dad, on a Stiller action that I've gotten sub .25 groups out of.

Ask your smith, and trust their recommendation. I learned this during my first custom build when after about my hundredth question my smith told me "Trust me on this. Your eye will be behind the scope but my name will be on the barrel. I won't steer you wrong."

A few points.

Accuracy comes from the barrel and a quality chambering.

The action only has a few jobs.

Be stiff enough to support your preferred contour barrel.

Allow easy sight mounting.

Feed and extract cartridges.

Drop and reset the firing pin.

A whole slew of actions on the market perform these tasks well. Pick one.

Yup. I would use the exact same combination.

Defiance...I know both Glen and Jerry. Glen is a super nice guy...no nonsense type guy. He will build you a super action, and if he tells you 7 weeks, well it will be damn close to on time...I cannot say that for others. I like Rock Creek barrels, and Brux, but have to say Bartlein I have heard nothing but good things.

I have a Defiance 375 length with controlled round feed and 3 position safety on order right now...

I'm not a fan of the bolt knob either but that's easily changed. Everything else is perfect. Only other action I want is a Badger Ord or the 3 lug posted by Chase Curtis on here.

Haven't seen any posts lately about the Chase Curtis actions, any word on how they are going?
