Continuing the beat downs!!! 100+ Limits for over 5 straight days!!!!
Didn't today due to only having around 20 hunters.
Last night the guides got together with with a couple family members for a backyard cotton cotton field shoot.

How's that for west Texas dove hunting

Good job. A big pile of doves is a beautiful site.
But our Game Warden would have gone ballistic over all of them dove on the same table.

Hard to go ballistic when the hunters that were finished put them in individual piles 15 seconds before they started cleaning them.

laugh A few years back we had a turd of warden yelling and my daughter and myself because I had my birds on the tailgate and she had hers up near the cab. He accused us of "pooling" our dove and demanded that they be kept in separate places. He would have loved your filing method. He was also an idiot.
Again, congrats on some very successful hunting.

Justin is the man! I hunted that field opening AM, and limited out. I could have limited in 1 hour IF I could shoot.
I was 75 yards out into that field, nice place.

We'll be out there at the T-Diamond Ranch Wed/Thurs. Hope the birds stick around.

I think there is a cold front that will move more birds into the area

Birds are flocked up 50-100 in most flocks. Course that's what they do with these fronts. Yesterday afternoon we had some great birds in a field but had a hard time keeping um moving be use the field was bigger than the group coluld hunt.

Yes they are pretty sticky these days about co-mingling doves. Had a GW question me (and he was a nice guy whom I almost bought his ranch from) why were there 25 doves in your pickup. I pointed to my young teenage boys, 13 and 14 At the time spaced a 100 yards from each other across the field. Explained to him they would bring their dove over so they wouldn't have ants on them while laying on the ground. He just smiled and said good deal, just keep them individual groups from now on. On another occasion was on a corporate hunt in Frisco, some of you know which hunt this is that has hundreds of hunters. 3 GW blocked all gates and inspected everybody. Over 50 citations were issues for co-mingling. Just keep your harvest separate. Looks great a bunch of birds on the tailgate, just separate them so each Hunter can claim his own.

Hunted between Haskell/Aspermont tonight and average was half limits. I shot bad and got 8 but dang flowers were 7 feet tall so you couldn't see them. The field has been shot before as I picked up a lot of Rio shells... The birds were super skiddish. Mojos did not work at all. Still fun and a great challenge. We'll be north of Lueders in the morning and hopefully have birds that want to be eaten.

It was on this morning just north of Lueders. Flocks and flocks. Lots of new birds. Done by 7:30.
