So if you recall a couple weeks ago I went out to set up a camera and ended up shooting a wild hog with my AR-15. It was a direct hit and the hog went down; but between the less-than-ideal .223 cartridge and my poor bullet choice it wasn't enough and the hog got up and ran away as I was looking to shoot a second hog. No exit wound, no blood. Whatever.
Anyways...yesterday I went back out to retrieve pictures from the camera and this time took my Mosin Nagant loaded with some 150gr Hornady SST. A higher power must be looking out for me because AGAIN, a group of hogs came trotting out into the open where I was at...just as I stood up and was about to walk out. So I shot a big one from about 35-40 yards away with dedushka
and the hog dropped like a bag of concrete and never got back up. This was the first time I've taken the ruski out...74 years old and still killin.
