Looking for suggestions, I have a stainless and synthetic bolt action that I want to paint. I know if I use spray paint it can/will scratch off, but repairing said scratches would be easy enough. Any other ideas or problems with this?

I've painted an AR and a bolt gun using Krylon.

This was just the fiberglass stock, don't have pics of the AR but I painted the plastic and metal. I think it was Krylon Fusion paint

Was a Butler Creek Stock, and I refinished it using stone texture spray paint and an enamel clear coat.

I did a Benelli Nova. It looks ok. You could dang sure loose it in the tall grass. And like was mentioned, putting a coat or three of clear on afterwards, sure helps.

Mmmm Hmmm

Krylon works well. Biggest issue with spray painting is to get the oil off all the surfaces you want covered.

Appearance is not for the hunted it's for personal pride.

Two good reasons to never get near a firearm with a paint can.

Pass the gravy.

Painted many weapons with Krylon. Works great, and if you need to touch it up, no problem. Preparation is everything.

Pride is the accuracy of the shooter, not the color of the gun.
