I wanted to get ya'lls opinion on upgrades to increase the likelihood of an accurate shot. I have a Mission Craze with the stock 3" stabilizer. Last season I picked up a used QAD drop away and I really like it better than the whisker biscuit.

What should be next on my list? A better release (Scott Little Goose)? Longer stabilizer? Sting stop? Would like suggestions. thx!

Well that's just a given. If I am gonna spend money on a new toy though I want it to improve my chances.

How long you been shooting?

Accuracy comes with practice, but if you have hiccups in form, you can buy all the stuff you want and not see any results. An hour with an instructor might be the best 40 bucks you could spend. Not only would they possibly tighten you up, you could ask about next upgrades.

Might want to look at the "True shot coach". It is a great aid in learning how to grip a bow. The grip is critical in order to shoot accuratly.

Rest ranks up there real high as upgrade! Hostage rest are easy but if bow is not tuned it will show are contact, dropping arm, arrow spine issues....! just removed my Apex and went with NAP Apache and like it, but I have had that rest on last 3 bows and makes tuning for field points and broadheads easier. Any drop away is better that containment setups.

I don't see any of this approving your accuracy hardly any.

Rest usually does more good than any one other upgrade and that is already good with the QAD.

What does the sight picture look like through your peep? For hunting I like a large enough peep sight that I can see the full ring on the front sight. The eye easily centers 2 circles then put the right pin on the target and shoot with good form.

If you do not know what good form is perhaps a lesson might be the best upgrade you could get. Practicing bad form only enforces it.

The size of pins on sight or even number of pins can be major issue for some. I don't think I have any need for more than 5 and 4 pins work better for me. 4 would get me to 50 yards but no reason to use 5th enless targets. Size of pin small as possible would help with focus and be able to see more of where you want/need to hit, trade off is low light seeing pin probably. Aim small miss small is good practice mentality.

what made me a more accurate shooter was using a single pin sight. an upgrade in stabilizer may also help. the longer the stabilizer the longer your bow floats in the right spot to make the shot. just my $0.02...

A stabilizer that short adds little but weight down low. Consider how big your peep is as well. Too large makes it harder to center the sight/pin as well. Sight with a level will help on longer shots as well. Especially if it has an adjustable third axis.

I really want to try Steady Form, it looks like it would work and all reviews say it does wonders but i am still on the fence about it

also last year for the first time i put a quiver on the side of my bow, a Tight Spot, i have noticed i feel much more stable with it on then off and my accuracy has improved a great deal since i have started leaving it on

Thx Kmon. My sight looks pretty much like what you describe. My right eye (dominant) has gotten worse and that might be factoring in some too.

And the range I shoot at there are some real experienced guys and a shop pro that gives lessons. I took a lesson when i bought the bow as I am still pretty new to bowhunting. It was money well spent. He's around the shop a lot, maybe I can get him to check my form.

Hi Matt- I'm using a 4 pin sight that came with the bow package, it's nothing fancy, no levels or anything. But really have only sighted in the first two, i don't plan on taking shots over 30 yards. I might ask the guy I took lessons from what he thinks, I got a class when I purchased the bow, wanted to try and get a head start. thx for the info!

I us a QAD rest. They are great and I couldn't ask for more accuracy.

That being said, Equipment goes only so far to improve accuracy. In fact if you have flaws in your form you are probably better off with a more forgiving brace height like what the OLD bows had.

All my buddies shoot the latest and greatest but I out shoot them with my old Mathews. It's properly tuned and I'm very familiar with it.

I consider these two things to be the most important.

1). Proper tuning
2). Proper form.

Good equipment is nice but just make sure it's properly tuned and you're familiar with it.
