Darned thing just won't die. It's a 2000 model and it's absolutely bulletproof. It just runs and runs and runs. Starts every time. Winch works great. But it is getting ugly. Red plastic fenders are faded. Tire tread is slowly disappearing on the original tires. All that is wonderful unless you want a new Grizzly, in red. All shiny and new. And I want a new Grizzly. Mentioned it to the wife this morning. She went nuts. Thought I must be crazy.
Next year! I'm getting myself a honkin big new bright Red Yamaha Grizzly. Front and rear racks. Winch. Power steering. Yessiree! I deserve it. And the grandkids need power steering, at least the little ones do.
It really would help my case if the Big Bear would at least give me a little trouble.
No...I don't NEED a new Grizzly. What's that got to do with anything?

Pull all the plastic, clean and lightly sand and paint with krylon Fusion. If it ain't broke, why fix it?
Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.

Ain't no way you're gonna buy that brand new scooter.
Mama said no.

Redchevy, you may have to steal it. Dave was right about the wife having said No. She seems relatively firm on that subject. She hopped on it yesterday, fired it up, and drove it for 20 minutes and pronounced it "just fine". Probably it would help if she didn't know how to drive one.

I feel ya! My old 2002 Honda 350 Rancher 4x4 just keeps going and going. Normal maintenance and add gas. A new battery every 4 or 5 years but it will easily start with pull rope if needed. Put new boots on the shafts and repacked bearings last year...hoping they last over 10 years like the last set! Yeah it's faded, but not that ugly but I'm not afraid to scratch it.
You need to change your approach...get her to ride a new one and demonstrate how easy it is to drive and how plush the ride is and how it's easier on your back and if you had a pair, you could ride together AND take the grandkids..

Vern1, that's a great idea. She fusses about my Big Bear because it's 4wd full time and hard for her to steer. Her ATV is a shiny yellow Suzuki Ozark 250 that drives like a sports car. Hmmmmm...got to get her on a big old Grizzly with power steering.

Then hit her up for a fancy camo paint job. And new wheels and new tires. Get the picture?

Heck, i'll just stick with this old Yamaha till next year. Regarding this urge for a new one...I'll just lay down till the feeling goes away. I really really don't need a new one. But...I will manage to get her into the Yamaha toy store for some tire kicking and driving. Gotta plant the thought for next year.
What I really really DO need is a new Stand and Fill feeder, so I'll get that in a couple of weeks.

I used a heat gun and held it a few inches away from the plastic moving it in circles. As the plastic returns to its "almost" original color I moved to a new area. It brings the plastic back to looking almost new. Be sure to clean it first.
