That's crazy how much he's grown in one year. Now bust he's other leg and you'll have one hell of a deer next year.

He did very well this year. My guess is he was already injured before last years antler growth. Deer are very tough. Given the right genetics, age and the right rainfall they can really do well. I have seen a few leg injuries that did not effect a buck that much. I have one this year that broke the lower part of a rear leg last year in Dec and has a pretty good rack this year.

That is very cool. tlk just posted a very nice buck with almost the same type of leg deformity. He said they had watched the buck for 4 years now and it continued to grow bigger antlers each year. They are very resilient animals and seem to adapt in ways we don't think their capable of.

impressive, good thing you didn't get him last year
If I send my neighbors a text and ask them to give me feedback on my lawn and plant rye into a giant dong pattern, I'm probably going to get some less than positive feedback. Same goes here.

Real nice buck. We have had a fawn hanging around for a month with an ankle that looks like that bucks knee. We can't tell if he broke something or has been bitten. He appears to be in good shape.
