WOW. I tried like hell to kill this deer last year. didnt think he would survive with that busted leg... AmaZing what some rain will do... I would have NEVER thought this was same deer without the leg...

He did very well this year. My guess is he was already injured before last years antler growth. Deer are very tough. Given the right genetics, age and the right rainfall they can really do well. I have seen a few leg injuries that did not effect a buck that much. I have one this year that broke the lower part of a rear leg last year in Dec and has a pretty good rack this year.

That is very cool. tlk just posted a very nice buck with almost the same type of leg deformity. He said they had watched the buck for 4 years now and it continued to grow bigger antlers each year. They are very resilient animals and seem to adapt in ways we don't think their capable of. cheers

Real nice buck. We have had a fawn hanging around for a month with an ankle that looks like that bucks knee. We can't tell if he broke something or has been bitten. He appears to be in good shape.
