I'm no expert at scoring axis but it only takes 172 2/8" to make SCI top 10 North American free range...

40 inches is a hard mark to touch! Almost impossible... I think he is a toad and the biggest free range I have ever seen..I will leave it at that... I know he is super gold medal...

He's certainly a stud....but he is most definitely NOT a 40" Axis. More like 35" or so...

I've only seen one that I thought would hit 40". I've heard lots of talk,rumors and speculation about 40" Axis but they are few and far between for sure!! Good Luck to whomever hunts and possibly kills this buck. I hope we can get some photos and measurements of him if he's done! Baker
