I just recently received my CH L plastic. I am thinking I need one more pistol to round out my portfolio.

I currently have:

Beretta 92FS 9mm
Remington 1911 RS1 .45
Ruger SP101 .357

Right now my CCW would be the Ruger. I am thinking about adding one of these:

Sig 938
M&P Shield
H&K 305k
Springfield XDs .45

Any comments or suggestions?

Shield would get my vote. Good size, good ergonomics, good trigger, good sights, good price.

I have an XD-9 (so I'm not anti-springfield), but I don't like the way any of the XD series shoots in 45. Never shot the H&K. The Sig doesn't handle as well for me as the M&P, and the M&P is quite a bit cheaper. But there's nothing inherently wrong with the Sig.

I carry the XDs or a G43. I have a sp101 but I don't carry it much. A G19 is in the rotation too but that is the biggest I can comfortably carry. But I do like all of those.

I have not fired one yet, but handled one of the new Walthers at the local shop yesterday. Really fit my hand well. Looks like a nice piece.

I would recommend the HK. I have not shot the 30, but the USPs are good shooting pistols and very reliable.

If these are all going to be carry pistols, why in the world would you want 3 different pistols that are operated in 3 different ways? Doesn't seem like a very good idea to me.

For example, I carry a P30 or a P30SK, depending on what clothes I'm wearing. They are both operated the exact same way, so I only have to train to be proficient with one operating system. I can use the full size mags as a backup for the small gun, and can also use the exact same concealed carry holsters for either. I only have to worry about stocking up on one kind of ammo too.

I've got the M&P (just the full size shield I believe) and I'm a fan so far. Very comfortable and shoots awesome!
