I am looking for opinions on which WMA/SP is the BEST all-around for public draw Gun Mule Deer. Criteria to judge I'm asking about are but not limited to: 1. Quality/abundance of Mule Deer 2. Location/terrain of WMA/SP 3. Professionalism/friendliness/helpfulness of Staff 4. Quality and type of facilities i.e. bunkhouse, campsites, showers, fresh water, electricity on WMA/SP
Thank y'all in advance for your input!

Palehorse wont be happy with me, but I would recommend Matador. We went there last spring for a youth turkey hunt. I have never seen the place before, but will dang sure and try to be back again.

Don't believe him. There are no deer at Matador. Nothing but hoot owls and polecats. You will also get a nasty case of chiggers on your privates if you hunt there!

Matador has been recommended but not much information about the WMA. Any other opinions? Thanks, I am positive this will help others as well as me.

So how does that work? You put in for al of them and your built up preference points count for each individual area draw? I am confused by the new system...

your loyalty points add up for each category, archery deer, gun deer.. etc.... if you do not get drawn you get a loyalty point for that year in each you enter. if you have 5 yrs worth of loyalty points and enter with a friend who has less or more, it will average them and if you do not get drawn you still get a point. correct me if im wrong... hope that helps

On yes sir I'm clear on that. Been putting in on hunts for 14 years. I was asking about putting in for multiple wma's in same category. Example, I have 7 points in "Gun mule deer". I put in to draw for Matador, Sierra Diablo and Elephant Mountain. Question I was asking do I get my 7 points going for me on each of the area's I put in for the draw? 2nd question is since I started with 7 and do not get drawn on the 3 I applied for do I now have 10 points for next year's draw or just accrue 1 point even though I put in for 3? These 2 questions are where I am confused with the new system.

YES 2nd question is since I started with 7 and do not get drawn on the 3 I applied for do I now have 10 points for next year's draw or just accrue 1 point even though I put in for 3? only accrue 1 point. if you get drawn for anything you lose your points for that category. also if you get drawn on the 2nd chance it goes back to zero points next year. hope this helps
