At least it's a start on ending the criminal diversion of Sportsman’s fees on: gun & ammo sales, taxes, and other user fees collected. Just maybe TPWD can start funding some of the TPWD lands that have never been opened to public for Draw hunts, APH, and public use.

For years, the Legislature has been stockpiling hundreds of millions of dollars meant for Texas’ parks in order to artificially balance the state budget. That practice may not end completely with the passage of House Bill 158, but it’s certainly being scaled down, at least for the next few years.

rofl Enjoyed the leases was on, wife & kids were part of the hunting, people were more family orented, & more for grilling & chilling... WMA ..is cheaper, the after season, doe & spike hunt went on at RCWMA was the crowdedest ever seen a WMA.. Yet ya could find areas were ya had ta yourself... Health problems is what slowed me down, finding hohs & good deer spots was always easy part... Tough part is getting em out... The walking around was weight loss plan, rofl carried camera with for ones to big ta back-pac out.. Had an advantage, if did back-pac had time ta rest up.... Meet some city-slickers, cheers enjoyed the hunts, usualy huntsolo .... Payed the $48.00 last year, daughter let me borrow truck for juryduty... Got two day hunt in... Was a Blast... Tis Proud Supporter of WMA ... Then, i'm a lowfer... 2cents i got cheap posts... Best Wishes Ta All on WMA Hunts.. flag

I guess I am missing something. I just don't understand how they can legally take money for one thing and then use it on something else. Are they artificially balancing the budget to try and make themselves look good? Wonder how that worked out for them. Crooked A politicians

More off the same:

Veterans’ Lotto program faces diversion of funds in Republican budget

“If one of our highest priorities is going to be providing services to combat veterans, then we should not be diverting the Veterans Cash scratch-off funds to general revenue or allow the funds to be raided during a budget crisis,” Davis said.
