Ok, I cleaned out my inbox.

Any other military personnel, current or retired, looking for a dove hunt? About 1.5 hours west of Ft Worth. Send me a PM.

I appreciate the sacrifices made by our military personnel, & I enjoy my freedom everyday because of what others like them have done for our country. We owe our veterans a debt of gratitude, & in my opinion, our government does not take good enough care of them. We should take better care of them instead of giving away free [censored] to lazy, no account free loaders on welfare.

I should probably stop there, before I get wound up.

Anyway, I need a few more guys to fill out the dove lease. Any other veterans or current military guys close by give me a shout.

Max, there's a bunch of Honorably Discharged old Veterans out there too. Why leave them out? A great gesture, thanks!

Didn't mean to leave out veterans. Forgot to put that in my title.

I'm looking for 4 or 5 more guys. Probably not a whole lot of birds, but should be decent hunting.

Thank you. I hate Home Depot for that. Excluding real veterans from the discount. I have lectured several HD managers on this topic.

Home Depot in Lubbock always gives me the discount. Lowes also. I just show them my ID.

Vets don't have a military ID, only a DD214.

? Oh, retired vets have one. I see what you mean. Be hard for them to verify just veteran status probably.

I've been helping pay the bills and salaries of the military for 30 years. That doesn't count?

I'm in the same boat, albeit only for 25 years. It is honorable to be a tax paying citizen.

That doesn't even come close to men & women who put their lives on the line.

Especially combat vets, wounded warriors, or those who have given the ultimate sacrifice.

But if you legitimately want a place to dove hunt on Saturday afternoon, send me a PM.

As a vet I want to thank you for your kind offer and for your support. It really does the heart good to hear that someone really appreciates the service that we give. Even though we do or did it not for recognition, but because we felt it was the right thing to do. I served during the first gulf war from 88 to 92. However, I still will go out of my way to go and shake the hand of a person who is serving our country, and tell them thank you. That also includes those that serve us at a local level (police, firemen, etc.) They put their lives on the line for us also. AND FOR ALL THOSE THAT SERVED OR ARE SERVING US STILL. THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNSELFISH ACT.

If I'm not hunting something I must be dead.

Reference the Home Depot and Lowe's discount: I am a Viet Nam combat veteran, not a career military retiree. Every Home Depot or Lowe's I have been in lately gives the military discount to vets. I have carried a copy of my DD214 in my wallet for a couple of years and that has always worked with them.

About two years ago, Texas started giving the option of adding "Veteran" to renewing driver licenses, with sufficient proof (DD214 or other documentation.) That has turned out to pretty handy in a lot of places.

I've got it on my license, Lowes on Quebec would not honor it. I chewed them out.
