Looking good. I would pull that gate open some more, the bigger the opening the better.

If you can make the trap in the shape of the number "6" with the gate placed where the loop returns to the vertical line you will make a funnel that will allow additional hogs circling the tripped trap trying to get to the food to enter and also be trapped. We are setting one up this fall around a feeder to keep drawing them in.

Nice looking trap! How do you release the gate, or do you have it rigged so that the hogs release it?

Catch & Release.... they get used ta going in & out... Come back with friends... Wait till most or majority are in trap.... Seeing several on here... Used a small trap several years ago... Heard people telling stories of deer getting caught, & banged up.... So trap sits... Like the bigger traps, bigger is better... Like SW said: it funnels into a big cyrcle... That one looks like its working... Proof tis in the pudding, pudding that pic up shows proof.... You have remote control door release ? More info...

No those are way to expensive. It's a rooter door.

No those are way to expensive. It's a rooter door. learn somethiing new, hows it work? Hog rooting around trips door? Remote control is way ta go... See the thread posted earlier bout remote control doors, gates.. Bigger the trap hogs will feel more comfertable, less pressure, when majority are in shut gate, door, with re mote, have video cam monitoring... Hows your rooting door work ? Edit: Thread bout war on hogs, he has a remote door, gate trap.... mind on food, need ta take fish out & unthaw for later...

They can just push it open very easily. But it is also trip wire compatible so I am thinking about setting one of those.

I like it, good luck. I like that deer can jump out too. I have lost a few pigs (not many) that were climbers, something to think about.

Looking at pic's, if hog pushes door up, another hog already trapped could get out same time... Were as a swing oneway gate, hog would have ta push other hog back... Your trap shows hogs in it best wishes.. Edit: year or two ago had posted a drawing of trap in different thread... Not able ta post pic's
