So Im dove hunting this year with a few of my buddys. I normally only hunt pigs but I figured its time to try something else and use the old 12 Gauge. The land owner told us that we should be getting 40 ringneck doves each morning along with are bag limit...? Does that mean there is no limit on ring necks?? I've never seen a ring neck dove before or heard of one! So any information yall can give me will be appreciated!!

Thanks cowboy

Yeah no limit on ring neck or collared dove as they're called. They're considered an invasive species. Not native. That would be awesome to shoot 40 ring necks and your limit. Good luck shooting to you. Have fun. Ring necks are more of a white ish light grey w a black band around their neck. Their in between the size of a dove and a pigeon.

In the link below they show some informative pictures. They are bigger and lighter in color as mentioned above. They sing very differently from a mourning dove. If they feed on grain they should taste great (the ones around where I live are smart and avoid hunting areas, city folk they are).

What? You never miss? Haha
A case usually last me a season, but I learned long ago always take a case of shells. There's nothing worse than you or a buddy running out of shells in the middle of a hunt. Also when you have kids or a new bird hunter hunting with you, they tend to use a lot of ammo.
