Cabela's Allen had one in .243, remember the .243 has a 1-7.5 twist which puts it in the 6mm Creedmoor category. Ask Tony, "Trigger Time" about the 105gr Berger in a quick twisted .243.
They had it priced 1299.99

The one in ft worth had it last week. I handled it. Trigger was not too bad. Only thing I didn't like was the safety. I thought it was hard to manipulate.
Still haven't found 6.5s

Put the safety on fire and never touch it again. That would be my thought process, especially with a bolt gun

Fondled the one in 243 at Cabelas in Fort worth the other day. I really want the 6.5 though.

I read the article about it in "Amercian Rifleman". I was impressed with the features.
DBM that accepts about four brands of mags, including P-mags, and A.I. (patent pending on that miracle design) 20 MOA pic rail Folding stock Fully adjustable L.O.P. and check height Twist rate to support high BC long bullets Ambi-safety Forward pic rail for attaching NV or Thermal
Bet I forgot something. At any rate if I were to procur one I would only have to mount a scope on it, and the rifle would compete without any mods made.

The real question is this. For the same or possibly less money, would you own a tikka ctr in 260? Comes with an eight twist treaded barrel, great action, good trigger, dbm, and a trg22 mag.

You can not replace the trigger... That stinks. I shot one at a shoot in Oklahoma and the trigger was spongy with a Capitol S. Other than that it was a cool gun.

i think they do that because its a two piece lower. They don't want people taking it apart and trying to put it back together.

How much would it cost to get the tikka configured the same way as the Ruger though? Doubt it would be any cheaper. This is a $350 Ruger American with mods from the factory. A $700 CTR modded to this level would be much more expensive if I had to guess.

You all should read all of the words posted in this topic. If you do it out loud it's pretty funny.

I would take the tikka ctr Me too. My thinking too. I really gotta see more reviews before I'd commit. It'll take some time. I'm patient.

I use only two aics mags for my x47. 200 dollars for a trg22 mag isn't terrible. You get a 3 inch coal to boot.

One is always loaded as a backup in case of a failure or issue during a stage.

Exactly my point. You only need to buy one extra magazine. 200 bucks for one extra magazine doesn't sound too bad. If you were buying 10 or 20 magazines, I would agree with you.
The ctr is the better buy, both short and long term.
