Hey guys need some insight.
I have a buddy who is wanting to get into knife making and has been looking at getting one of the grinders that uses the 2"x72" belts. Any recommendations as to which brands to look at? He has a lot of metal fab equipment already and does not mind spending the money for quality.

^^This^^ I built mine but it's a KMG clone. Tell him the variable speed units are well worth the extra cost.
