I'm looking at getting a new 20 gauge for dove season. I haven't hunted in 7 years, so need a new shotgun. I definitely want semi auto 20 gauge. I've owned a Beretta 391 and loved it, but no more than I hunt it's not justifiable. I've also had a escort that never gave me any trouble and only cost $400. What are some suggestions that fit my want between $400-$800?

Browning BPS is a nice combination of price and quality.

I've been hearing a lot of good things about the Stoeger M3020. MSRP runs from $599-$649.

Buds has the Stoeger and Weatherby synthetics in 20ga for <$500. But really, you should go look at all that fall in your price range and buy the one that fits the best. Also, I'd check used guns if you're not going to hunt much-you might get more bang for your buck.

I got the Steoger M3020 for the wife. Nice very light gun. Fit and finish is not great but what can you expect for the price? I have 5 boxes of 7/8 and 1oz loads thru it and eats them up light a champ.

People knock Stoegers because their cheap; but I had an M2000 12ga that I put 3 cases of shells through one season and never had an issue.

Sold it to a buddy that was just getting into skeet shooting and he put a confirmed 5,000rnds through it before he upgraded to a Benelli and kept the Stoeger as a spare gun for guests and its still going strong.

I think over unders are great for dove because for me the third shot is always a Hail Mary that I don't think I've ever dropped one with before. So imo the best choice for and O/U in your price range is a Yildiz.

My M2000 is 7 years old, I probably shot over a case last year alone between dove and ducks. I've had 1 problem, which was me and figured it out. Knock them all they want, I'm looking at either a 3020 or 3500
