I was drawn for anterless/spike at Gene Howe last year and for the exotic hunt at Palo Duro Canyon this year - both in the second draw.

Lucky so far this year. We've been drawn for private lands antlerless at Concho County and javelina at the Chap.

I donated my 132.00 to the state this year. Let's see if we get lucky.

In his first using on draw hunts last year my buddy was 3 of 12. So this year he jumped on like 15 or 20, so far he is 0-11.
Do first year entries do better, to bring them back next year? Just curious as I have heard a lot of good stories from first year folks, not so much from the draw hunt veterans.

Last year (first time ever applied) I drew 1 hunt out of 8 applied but I wasn't able to go due to work and school... frown
Let's see if I get lucky this year... 1 more day to wait for the result... This feeling reminds me of waiting to see if you could get into your desired college.. eek

This is my first year to enter and I won...javelina at Elephant Mountain in January! I'm so pumped it ain't funny! If it's true that first-timers get lucky, then I may not apply again next year!

Pending second on Lake Brownwood, Dinosaur Valley, and Atlanta in gun antlerless. Maybe folks will get tags for the big guys and give 'em up.

Pending 2nd at Atlanta as well, plus Gene Howe and Matador. Haven't drawn the others yet.

Yea, I'm pending second draw on a couple myself, but there are a lot more to draw. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Got antlerless/spike at Gus Engeling so far. Haven't been there so at least we see some new country.

Congrats. Haven't been there either, but it looks good on Google Earth. I applied there too.

Guess management and either sex will wait till a later date.

Josh and I enjoy gong to different places and seeing new sights. One day he won't want to go hunt with me, so until then it's a little father/son time. up

I applied 14 preference points to 5 different gun deer antlerless hunts and still didn't draw a single hunt. I have one heck of a streak in that category. Oh well. Still a lot of drawings to go.

We had 3 points for antlerless and got one. 4 points for management and got none. We have 2 for either sex and jury is still out.

I am setting at $85. And I just want to hunt somewhere different, I have plenty of places to hunt.

Yes Sir. I don't know why we bother, but it sure is fun seeing new places.

Anyone know how long it typically takes for second draw to happen? Have status of pending second draw for doe/spike at Colorado Bend. Thanks in advance

Looks like we struck out for GDA at Enchanted Rock and GDM at Kerr and still waiting GDE. Didn't mind not getting drawn there because we put in for low chance draw to get loyalty points due to our work schedules not matching up with any of the hunts. this year.

GDM at The Chapp for me. 7 points or less but wider than 12" so might get a good cull. Can shoot a doe or spike as well. Yotes and Javi are on the hit list as well. Shot a nice deer at Richland Creek last year. Been a good run for me.

Preference points don't mean sh#t anymore, I HATE the new system...

It does seem like 1st time applicants get picked more... I'm watching my list keep shrinking and shrinking... frown It's kinda like they're selling drugs, you get the 1st hit to be reeled in, and then you get hooked and you pay more and more and more after that without the real high of being drawn...
