Does anyone do any reloading for the .257 weatherby magnum possibly 110 grain ballistic tip and sell at a good price? Thanks,

Hell of a load. Held under MOA out to 500. I was to lazy to move the steel any higher up the mountain after 500 yards

at $4 or more per shot for factory loads other than standard cup and core bullets and can reload said bullets for less than $1 per round it makes reloading equipment seem cheap if you are going to shoot it much at all.

Of all the calibers to reload (or have reloaded), the Weatherby one's would be it. They are expensive as factory ammo, and the ammo quality is not that great. Brass is expensive for it, but once you have it, you can reload them multiple times.

Long story boring- I had a customer with a custom 300 Wby mag and he bought 2 different factory Wby ammo offerings to test in his new rifle. They would shoot 2"-4" at 100 yards, and all over the place. He had the gunsmith look over the rifle again, and the smith assured him the was fine. He brought me the rifle for load development. He wanted me to break down the factory ammo by pulling the factory bullets out and reuse the brass. When pulling the bullets, I weighed each powder charge from each round. I weighed the powder charge of about 20 rounds. I had a 1.9 grain swing from high to low. 1.9 grains!!!! What does this mean? I load my single stage ammo to within .02 grains, or to the exact kernel of powder. When I work up test loads, I increase the powder charge in .3 to .4 grains, and have about 5 groups to test (about a 1.5 grain spread in 5 groups) I am looking for the accuracy node within a certain powder charge range. Going up in .3 grain increments, it would take over 6 test load groups with a 1.9 grain difference. I can easily pass 2 accuracy nodes in 6+ groups of test loads with this large of a spread. This is why the factory ammo was all over the place. And, this ammo was about $70+ a box!!!

Ive only shot 1 box of factory weatherby ammo through my 300 and it left extractor marks on about 1/2 of them.

The best results I had with .257Wby were with RE22 powder and 100gr TSX bullets....at 3550fps they knocked deer down like Thor's hammer!

I have been loading my 257 wby mag with IMR4831 and 100 gr accubonds, no idea on the speed, I guess it's about time to buy a chronograph, but anyways they will shoot about 3/4" @ 100 yds with me on the trigger and I ain't the best shot. By far it's one of my favorite rifles!

I like loading with 4831 SC, but I have over 20 lbs of It!

Last year I bought 700 CDL in .257 Weatherby. I've put almost three boxes of different ammo and it's all over the place. Smith told me barrel was fine. I have it in my mind to send it to Remington or better yet trade it in for a real Weatherby.

Guess I need to give Chad a chance first.

The factory Wby ammo is truly some of the worth on the market. And for the price you pay, it makes me shrug my shoulders.

I purchased a 700 CDL SF 257 a while back. I had it bedded and floated then had an issue with the bolt not wanting to close. I sent it back to remington and have not shot it since getting it back. I looked over your website Chad and I'm very interested in having you work up some loads for my gun. I'll be in touch.

Just to ask, since I don't have any belted calibers, do you resize to headspace off the belt or the shoulder? I'd think the shoulder would lead to longer case life.

On the belted cases I resize to headspace off the shoulder.

Make sure the locking lugs are greased.

I thought the best load was the 110 accubond?
