Looks like most racks are well formed by this point. How much growing will be done between now and rub-out? Our deer are usually hard horned by mid-September So say, three weeks. 1%, 5%, more?

If we have a mid-120" looking typical 10, would it be likely to see him break 130 at this point?

Are they just finishing out/adding on mass now or would there still be some tine length being added?

It really will depend on the region of the state and then the individual deer. Some are done(I saw a young buck 3 days ago with velvet start to come off) while others are still growing some on my place.

Still seeing older mature bucks that still has a lot of growing to do. As already said, some young bucks look like they may be done.

Just depends on where you are and the specific deer. I haven't seen much growth in antlers for about the last 3 weeks.

These two pictures were taken the same day regardless of the bad date on the "2011" date. Both pics are on 8/19/2015. The big 10 is almost maxxed out. The multi point buck in the "2011" pic is going to grow another 25-30" between now and the first of Oct.

Both are similar genetics but different individuals in the exact same environment.

Depends on the individual deer. A lot has to do when the recover from the rut and winter. Some finish out much earlier than others.

I had pics on my game cam in April of bucks that still had their antlers. I've been wondering the same as you and also if the late shed has any bearing on how long they will grow. scratch

IME late shedding bucks tend to be the more dominant and in better shape. They seemed to always do good antler growth wise. Unless it is really late they might have trouble, but in South Texas a lot of bucks will still have antlers in mid April. They grow out just fine and into record book bucks.

Depend on if they're still bulbed on their points/beams. We have some that are finished in early July, most finished mid-Aug....this rain and cool air today will probably have them all rubbing out over this week.
