I passed this buck last year, then he was a 7pt but still had really nice brow tines. He's a handsome 8pt now and will get another pass this year only because I want to see how big he is next yr. I say that now, but who knows what will happen if I see him face to face. This spike on the other hand will NOT get a pass, he's at 2.5 and I tried like crazy to get him last year. He always ran with the then 7pt high brow tine buck. Either bow or rifle one way or the other, he's going down..

I agree with both of your choices. No amount of protein or time will make that spike into a trophy in my opinion. But what do I know, I just like deer meat.
