My brother gave me this today and says he never used it. Is it even worth farting with? The SD card doesn't spring in and out, you gotta pry it out. Did they start off like that? "C" batteries and it holds a whole 2GB! Not looking a gift horse in the mouth, just want to know if it's worth buying batteries for. 'Thing's so huge it's like the Russians built it.

I'd use it. What's it hurt to try? It probably works fine just won't have a high photo capacity

If you need it use it, if you have enough cameras save it for when another quits working.

It could be very dangerous to use such an old camera. Send it to me and I will sacrifice myself and use it

Do you have to pry the SD card out? Or does it spring in and out like the modern ones?

Creekrunner,
The sd card is spring loaded...you can feel it when inserted and when you press on it to remove. it will take good pictures. I had mine set to take 3 pics at a time and it seemed to take a lot of juice out of the battery. I changed that to only one pic at a time and it does much better regarding battery life. The camera is supposed to be on Test or Off, when you remove or add the sd card. You can get help by calling the 877 269 8490 help desk. In case you don't have the info it is a Stealth Cam Rogue IR.
I used A sd 4 card a time or two, they did not recommend the 4.

Thanks for the help wilhunt. My SD spring must be busted. I'll give it a try anyway. I went to Walmart to look for a 2GB card, the one in it is 1GB, but there wasn't any with that low a gig.

I think I bought the 2GB card the last time from Walgreen. Hope it works for you.

that model there will drain your batteries pretty quick...however i will say it takes great pics...works well by feeder where deer hang around for a while...will not work well on a trail due to the slow trigger speed

Put in the batteries. Some settings buttons worked, most did not. It's fried. Must have gotten too hot sometime. Almost threw it away and then decided I'll "repurpose" (very hip, PC term nowadays) laugh and hang it at the back corner of my house property as a psychological warfare weapon against trespassing/thieving/vandalizing little devils.
