I am sure there will be some... You have to understand, I need very, very LARGE numbers to shoot at if I hope to get a limit. cheers

And it is TXHOGSLAYER. If you are going to chastise someone, at least get their name right newbie. grin

I sure hope not. If another front hits by Sept.1 we may be doomed

Doves do move out, they are migratory, but other birds move in to take their place. And sometimes they simply leave for a few days and come back. Mine are acting a little funny today. I sat at one of my fields drinking coffee this morning for about an hour and only had 4 doves fly in. Yesterday I had a couple hundred. Went back out there at lunch and they were everywhere. I hate to see them eating at midday. That usually means they are about to pull out for good.

I heard a TPWD biologist speak at an event last night. I asked him this very question. He said this front would shuffle around some birds but would probably have a bigger effect on white wings. But, it's happened far enough in advance of Opening Day that things should settle by then; plus the numbers this year are near record levels.

We have this same discussion every year. It is what it is and there is nothing you can do to kill birds other than changing locations.
