Does anybody reload 10 mm ? I recently started reloading 10mm and the thing I don't like is the brass is thrown a mile, a lot further than any .45 acp I have ever shot.I had some loaded with Hornady 180 gr jacketed and Hornady Xtp 180 gr.same brass(Starline) same powder (9.5 gr 800x)the XTP went about half as far as the jacketed. Anybody know why?

I load and shoot a lot of 10mm. The XTP is a longer bullet, so if you seated both bullets to the same COAL, the 180 FP (assuming it's a FP) would have less pressure. The 180 XTP would be seated deeper in the case, and have less internal case volume with the same powder charge, causing higher pressure and more speed. That's the only thing I could thing of.

Thanks, Chad I will chronograph the loads next time and see if there is a difference in velocity. Just couldn't figure why there would be such a difference in ejection distance.
