My son Robert took this young buck at Llano River State Park his brother took one slightly larger but didn't want to take a picture. We must have seen 50 to 75 axis deer just could not connect.

Sorry I have been busy. My son Jose shot it on the east lake tract of the Lower Rio Grande Valley NWR, they have both youth and adult hunts. I have never been picked but my boys have been picked several times Robert missed one but has shot a couple of young whitetails on this hunt, Jose has been picked twice and both times killed a bull.

Forgive my ignorance, but why is your scope mounted so far forward on your gun? Eye Relief? Never seen a scope mounted like that.

Based on Jeff Cooper's Scout Rifle concept. Though note the mounting of the scope or having a scope is not the only thing that makes a scout rifle. It is only one part of the concept. The use of the forward mounted low power long eye relief scope or other sight system such as a ghost ring is for fast target acquisition, ease of reloading, and handiness.
