Well I've been building a lot of stuff lately and had a few things laying around I wanted to frame so I watched a couple youtube videos and decided to give it a try. First I had to build a couple jigs to make the process a little easier. First I built a mitre sled and then a spline jig. Mitre jig allowed me to get perfect 45 degree cuts and spline jig allowed me to reinforce the corners without nails or screws. I started with a 1x2 piece of oak and then I cut the notch in the back for the glass and and cardboard. Then I cut 1/8 inch grooves on the face of the wood to add a little character. Finished it off with some walnut stain and clear coat.

Finished product for way cheaper than having a professional do it
