I was in the woods today. The acorns were on the ground already..Seems early?

Having lived in Indiana, I'd say it's early. I usually didn't see any acorns on the ground until after Labor Day. They are calling for a stronger El Nino, though that usually doesn't do much for weather in the mid-west, it just might mean y'all will have an earlier first snow/frost than normal. Only time will tell though.

When there's too many acorns they prematurely drop some while still green so that they can mature the crop. Take a look in the trees I bet there's still a bumper crop.
