How many of yall have experimented with pistol/shotgun powders using pistol bullets and heavy (200gr+) rifle bullets? You're probably asking what spurred this idea. Well, the 208 amax is a fantastic bullet and very accurate in all my 300 blk setups. However i started shooting into water jugs and was getting no expansion and no yawing. So i thought other than paper accuracy, hunting wise this is a poor combination. So i started researching and found several pills that are for 30 cal pistols. The expansion and accuracy has been very impressive thus far. Havent had a chance to chrono because mine died on me, but getting the accuracy ive gotten, sub moa at 50 yds every load, id guess the ES isnt that bad.
Powders ive used green dot, american select, solo, and red dot. Projectiles have been 86gr 30 mauser, 90gr xtp, and 203gr lead flatnose from palmetto projectiles.
Ive been doing a lot with these combos lately and they are ridiculously quite, most likely due to pressure curve of fast powder. In fact my old man was grinning the whole time i was shooting. inside 100 yards accuracy is enough to break clays 100% of the time.
So had anyone else gone outside the box with this round?

I'm not a BLK shooter but I've always thought Trailboss would be a great powder. Have you tried it?

I have been using 1680 in ARs. In bolt guns I have used Unique,(in 300BLK) and Trailboss in .308.

Are you running the lighter bullets as subs also? I'm not a BLK shooter but I've always thought Trailboss would be a great powder. Have you tried it? Trail Boss is not a good powder for the blk out. It's too fluffy of a powder for the burn rate as a sub.

I have used pistol powder most recent was WW630 Works ok but AA5744 and AA 1680 seem more consistent

Yes all loaring is for subsonic chad.
I have been running green dot and poly filler with pistol bullets and easy sub moa accuracy at 50yds. In fact, yesterday i ran green dot and a 203gr cast. If any one has quick load id appreciate the data from it. I can pm load info.
Wanted to try Trailboss with pistol bullets and 110's but havent seen any in years.

Any other ideas or info?
If any of yall have quickload id appreciate running 3 or 4 loads. I'm mainly concerned with pressure curve.

Talked to chad, thanks chad youre a great asset to the forum, and in quick load 4.0 grains of green dot over a 203 flat nose cast bullet IS NOT an advisable load @ 904 fps. Just wanted to share that.
