I've shot a lot of them over the years and the Benelli Cordoba is the way to go in my opion

I have a Belgian Light 12, a few pumps, an old double and a couple of 1100's... but the ultimate dove gun is a break-open full-choke .410
best teacher of good hunting skills for a young hunter...
not for wing-shooting, but for limb shooting...
teaches good hunting skills.. sneak up and get that bird...
getting busted by game hones skills.
shot skittish dove are a worthy quarry...

Simple Remington 870 express in .20 gauge or 12 gauge depending on where I am hunting. Reliable and fun for me.

I cant argue with my CZ Bobwhite SXS 20ga was a $20 raffle win, and you'll never catch me hunting with a Remington shotgun, period.

I'd say unless you are going to Argentina or something you should be shooting the same shotgun you duck hunt with. After all this is just the warm up season. If you are a deer hunter or just a dove "hunter" then I guess my post doesn't apply to you.

few doves have wings cupped and feet down...
I may be new to this forum, but not new to bird shooting...
w/the exception of teal... doves are probably the most challenging of wing-shooting...
ever seen a dozen or 2 white-wings coming straight-on thru or just over the trees twisting and juking?
toughest shot ever...

A500G in real life shes a little long for dove to fit most people.. Remy 1100 would be the most universal between any style hunter imo

I've killed dove with every gun i've ever owned but had a chance to use a 28 ga. O/U a few years back and was in dis belief at how lethal it was. My limit that afternoon was quick and effortless with the light weight little gun with no recoil. So to choose a perfect dove gun for me would be a 28 ga. O/U with an Italian birth certificate.  28 gauge is my choice as well. I've killed more birds with my Remington 870 28 gauge than all my other guns combined. WPS!!!! 28 ga Beretta Silver Pigeon is my favorite. Close 2nd is my Franchi 48AL 28 ga.

I started on a single shot 20 gauge. Moved to a CZ over and under 12 and haven't had any issues. You learn to make good shots with the single though. Can't waste opportunities.
