Howa action. Lot of gunsmiths do not want to work on them due to how hard the barrel can be to remove.

Wby Vanguard is same action as Howa 1500 and S&W 1500. The barrel is hard to remove. But most smith's won't work on them because the action threading is metric. Otherwise, it's a great action to build from.

X2 on what chad said, i have a 260 rem built on a howa and if the person behind the trigger does their part it will stay sub moa out to 1k yds. If you can pick up action for $300 or less take it imho. The guys over a west texas ordnance did a lot of work on howa 1500 actions and built incredibly accurate rifles, my 260 is one. Now that they have their own action, i dont think they still do howa builds except on request.
Barrel companies that will touch a howa 1500 last i checked are krieger, mcgowen, and pac nor Possibly bartlein/shilen but cant recall.
I think its either snipers hide or snipers central, but they mess with howa/vanguard actions alot.
