I've been eyeballing the ATACR F1 5-25x56 with the mil-r reticle for my build, but cant seem to find one anywhere. My local gun shop called in to see when it could be expected to show up, and they were told mid-December.

I understand it's a fairly new, popular scope, but 18 weeks is a long time to wait on a scope and season is 3/4 of the way over by that time.

Where could someone find one and have before the end of, lets say, September??

It's backordered like crazy along with the gen 2 razor in mill.

That's what I've been finding everywhere. Wasn't sure if someone was in the know on where I might could find one. I'm not opposed to used, but doubt anyone is willing to give theirs up just yet roflmao

Looks like you could wait a month to get it. Still beats December.

I look at it as a lifetime investment, and will more than likely have this scope and the gun its going on for the rest of my life. Not saying I'll never own another gun or scope, but I tend to keep the more highly prized things I own and not trade/sell unless I'm in a bind, which I'm not.

I got out of dirt bikes, and it was the same ordeal. I had a very nice bike and it was pretty tricked out. I hadn't ridden in about 2 years and my bike was just sitting in the garage depreciating about $500-700 a year. No point in keeping it if I don't use it. I hunt every year and shoot as often as I can so this will definitely pay for itself many times over.

I would much rather have the f1 over the s&b p4f. 4-16 f1 would be better still.

The p4f reticle is silly. Why in the world would you not have a 1/2 mil mark between 0-and 1? But then have it everywhere else on the reticle.

+1

If you're contemplating $2800 on a NF, may as well go for the gusto and get the S & B.

Used s&b with only a two year warranty. Again, no thanks.

ZK-315,

Did you already check with LaRue? See link below, it seems they have some in stock.

I talked to a guy at optics planet and said they should have some coming into stock at the end of August. They have more coming in sooner but they were for back order fills.

I would like to have the FFP but to much coin for me, if you read the NF manual it will tell you the power setting on the SFP scopes to use to get true MOA or MIL's. I've never really used it, I just use my kestrel and range finder.

Then you're missing the most important feature of a Mil or MOA reticle and that is to properly correct for wind, most importantly. And two to be able to use pure holds if in a time crunch. SFP scopes usually subtend at maximum magnification. At half magnifications the subtensions double, so one Mil is actually two at half magnification.

Correct, that's two luxuries I do without because of $$$$ even with at wholesale. Wife and four kids will put a dent in your pocket book

For sure. I have the same scenario.

That's the main reason I have never owned NF. Until recently the only way to get FFP was the 3-15X F-1. And there were plenty of other brands with good glass, good tracking, and an upper magnification of 20X

I'd look at the kahles 624i. After weeks of research it was the scope of choice for me in that price range. I just never gathered the guts to spend the $$ and bought a 5-20 SS. Do some research on the Kahles then contact ccoker on here for a great price on them if it is of interest to you. Most reviews put them superior to the ATACR.

Just bite the bullet and buy a Hensoldt ZF... 3.5-26x56 FFP, 18 mils per rev, 36 mils total elevation adjustment...
