Sorry if this is in the wrong forum but need to know if the AR 15 trigger can be used in the AR 10. Or what is a good trigger to purchase for my AR 10. Also difference in single stage and 2 stage. If someone will point me in the right direction or move this to where it needs to be I would appreciate it. Thanks.

What are you looking for? Match, 3gun, duty, milspec? Take a look at the Geissele Triggers. Arguably one of the top tier triggers and have models covering about any need.

Yes AR15 triggers will work in AR10/LR308 platform rifles. I run a Geissele SSA two stage in mine. Pretty awesome trigger. I think single vs two stage is just preference. For a hunting gun I'd probably run a single stage trigger for a precision gun I'd run a two stage. From my experience the first stage is take up and the second stage is normally a lot lighter 1-1.5 pound crisp break.

I run RRNM two stage triggers in my AR15's and AR10's. Give it a set of JP springs and you got a good 80 buck trigger.

Another vote for Geissele. That's what I run in my AR10.

Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

Geissel or however you spell it is what i use. Great triggers if you like 2-stAge.

I have moved my Geissele SSA around a couple of times. When I first got it; I was target shooting out of a .223. Now it is in a S&W M&P10. It will stay there as it serves me quite well. If I were buying a new trigger for an AR15; I'd consider CMC.

I have a Geissele SSA-E 3.5 lb 2-stage in my LR-308 and I really like it. Very smooth and a nice crisp break. Mine is mostly a bench queen as it weighs 16 lbs.
On my 6.8 AR15 that I hunt with, I have a 4 lb Timney on it that is a good trigger too.
As others said, single stage vs 2-stage is mostly a personal preference. I prefer the Geissele, but for hunting I'd probably go with the 4.5 lb SSA rather than the ligter SSA-E.
