In June of last year I took a shot at lion while hog hunting. It was about 35 yards out walking directly away from me when I shot. As fate would have it, the back nut on my picatinny had loosen. The shot spun the cat around like a copter and sent fur flying. Needless to say it hit the brush before I could get another shot off. I looked for sign but the grass was knee high and the thought of rattlesnakes and a pissed off lion left me less than motivated to go tracking it down. Anyway, fast forward to this year our rancher said they found a lion track on the tank dam and a neighbor had one cross 283 in front of them a couple miles north of town.
So if you hunt north of Coleman be on the lookout.
They make ammo specifically for hunting for a reason!

Good Luck.....just don't give the mountain lion a name, like "Lucky Cat", "Felix the Cat" or "Coleman Cat"... I can see MSNBC out there now.
" Coleman Cat" as he was known by the locals, was just walking down 283 looking for scrapes when he paused at one of the hundreds of corn feeders used by poachers to lure in the endangered animals. Coleman just wanted a little corn and BAM just like that Coleman's 9th life ended.......

Just make sure if you kill that lion that you eat it all. Otherwise "hunters" will crucify you.

That's good to hear one day after I put up a new tree stand a few miles north of Coleman in Valera in anticipation for bow season! Dang you!
You can run but you can't hide...

looks like a bobcat to me
If I send my neighbors a text and ask them to give me feedback on my lawn and plant rye into a giant dong pattern, I'm probably going to get some less than positive feedback. Same goes here.
