Just had my 2015 F150 sprayed on Tuesday. Upon picking it up i noticed a couple small flaws like slightly different pattern in certain areas, and the top small rail by the cab had thick edges. No big deal, i just sanded them down when i got home. Then i noticed some tape was left on at the passanger side corner where that small top rail meets the side rail. So i peeled it off and about 1/4" of the linex came off. No big deal that some painted metal is showing. But i called the installer to make sure this would not affect the water-tight integrity. His response was "it shouldnt". "It shouldnt" isnt good enough for a $45,000 truck and $400 liner so i called corporate and they told me to take it back and have it fixed. I go back to show him and he seemed pi**ed that corporate contacted him. He told me to bring it back Monday and he'll apply some by hand. Will this be as affective? He also sprayed over the oval front drain covers which is ok too. But he should have sprayed them seperate. When i tryied removing them, i couldnt without ripping linex off course cause he sprayed them to the bed. So now there is a little metal showing from where the covers were when he sprayed. He wont be too happy about this extra problem when i bring it back monday. Is this something he should make right?

Dang right he should make it right. He should make it all right. He's lazy. I would try to take it to another line-x shop and see if they will fix his mistakes without charging you.

As far as the different texture, it's applied by hand out of a high pressure gun, it's very hard to make it all match perfectly. The corner with the tape that peeled the Linex up, that's because it hasn't fully cured. As far as the oval rubber parts that you pulled out, well that's on you. When I installed bed liners we removed everything except those because they wouldn't fit back in due to the thickness of the liner. Why did you need to remove them?

Thing I hate most about spray on bedliners is that a lot of them advertise 1/4 inch thick. I have yet to find one that is actually a 1/4 inch thick. Out of the four ive had done none have been. When I get my next one im going to take it to the place with a 1/4 inch thick piece of plywood and say this is a 1/4 inch thick, what you advertise that is what I expect.

I have seen and heard of the covers fitting fine with linex sprayed around the holes. They had some like that at the dealership. Even if i dont use them, he shouldnt assume and just spray ovver them. thats like painting over an outlet cover..its lazy.

That's just the way it's done. You would've been just as pissed if he removed them and put them back on and they didn't fit right. Next time you know to tell them to remove the covers, lesson learned. Now if he didn't remove the tie downs or bed bolts then that's just lazy and poor quality work. Linex isn't intended to be sprayed a 1/4 inch thick, it's a hard setting liner unlike Rhino, which never sets hard. It firms up to a hard rubber and therefore needs to be sprayed thicker.

BP is right...I've never had an installer pull those for fear of them not going back in. Had you let them cure those wouldn't have done that.

After calling corp on him if I was you I wouldn't expect anything except the bare minimum.

Well since you pulled them off, might as well look under the liner that peeled up and see if the paint has been properly prepped. Look for scratches from sand paper. More than likely they used a DA sander. You should be able to see noticeable scratches in the paint, if not, then I would question his entire process. When I sprayed in liners we could immediately drill into the bed with a hole saw without anything peeling up, even though it does take 24-48 hours to cure.

no sanding marks where drain covers were or the top of small front rail. There was dust on truck when i picked it up so must have sanded something, or just dust from the shop. But whats the point if you leave the edge areas unsanded.Now im really concerned about his whole process. Not sure if I should question him or just go to his superior since its obvious he tried cutting corners by not sanded everything. Plus, I would think the edges would be especially important to prevent moisture from getting under and preventing peeling.

The edges are especially important to prevent peeling. I would take pics and send it to Linex Corp and include the distributor(installer) info. Linex takes care to ensure the installers are doing their job correctly so they don't give Linex a bad reputation. Take some pics and post them up

I did my jeep for proper adhesion you need to prep the area properly I had a flapper sander I used on a drill bit.. if done right it cannot be removed without a grinder.
