I'm interested in purchasing a couple to switch scopes between AR style rifles depending on the game I'm targeting. I doubt I'll do much paper shooting. Do these really hold zero as advertised?

I'd like to hear from folks that have these type of mounts.

Thanks in advance!

Is your plan to have 1 gun and 2 scopes and pick which scope you want?

Or are you talking about moving a scope back and forth between 2 guns?

Good question. I was thinking 1 gun and two scopes but why couldn't it be moving scopes between guns? The latter sounds complex and would require more mounts.

Negative on more mounts.

For instance. This year I took the scope off my 7mm-08 and moved it to my .22-250 for the prairie dog trip. I made notes that I had to move 100 yard zero down .7 Mil and right .3 Mil to zero to the .22-250. Went 500 miles away and shot 500 rounds for two days.

Once I got back from the trip I wanted the scope back on the 7mm-08. I mounted it to the pic rail on the rifle, moved impact up .7 Mil and left .3 Mil. Cold bore shot landed .1 Mil low (.36" @ 100 yards) from where I wanted it. Pretty cool trick when you have good rings. This was not with a LaRue mount, but Talley Tactical rings. I suspect the LaRues will work the same, or better since it is a one piece mount..

Yes, they really do work. Be certain to return the mount to the exact spot on your picatinny/mount and DON'T mess with the tension on the cams.

I wouldn't be happy unless I had a way to torque my mounts.

Alamo four star
Aadmount
Nightforce unmount
Etc, etc

Larue, not so much.

What two scopes are you considering? I would put money into getting one good scope to do what I wanted.

LaRue has an option of a torque mount. The levers go away and a 1/2" wrench is what is required to remove the mount. It even has timing marks on the bolt and the body so you know you torque the same amount every time without having to use a torque wrench.

The Burris P.E.P.R. mounts do so I don't see why a higher quality brand like Larue wouldn't.

Seems like a step in the right direction.

Cleric, I have a new Ziess Duralyt 3-12 #60 reticle (Illuminated) but I may purchase a Swarovski Z3 3-9 x 36 for it (to save 8 ounces of weight). Rifle will have a can as well.

I have another 6.5 Grendel and AR10 Ruger with ATN night vision but wanted the option to move an NV scope to this new precision firearms Grendel upper. It arrives tomorrow.

LaRue is less than 10 miles away so I may call and ask if I can drop by and talk to them.

Thanks for all the input folks!

After discussing with the LaRue folks, I purchased the LT111 OBR (Optimized Battle Rifle) QD Scope Mount.

Hopefully, it's the one I need smile

You will be glad you did. They are awesome and hold zero.

The only person I've ever heard say anything negative about them are one's that have never owned one.

Those opinions are worthless.
