Yesterday we made a round trip to Alamogordo and came back by the way of Cloudcroft. Saw these signs and I thought maybe it will have a "cooling" effect on everyone.   Ski Apache from Apache Summit on highway 70.  The tunnel on highway 82 west of Cloudcroft.  That's no train a coming....

I have been snowed and sleeted on in Cloudcroft on July the 4th. LOL. And the afternoon showers are also great.
Is the old Rail bridge still there on the West side of CC or has it burned.

I love that drive from Sunspot all the way back to Cloudcroft. In a few short weeks the hills will start singing with Elk bugles. I'm headed that way in late September. Thanks for sharing the photos. Baker

Baker Man I love that area! I have taken some very similar pictures to those at the same area. These little meadows are what I find the most fascinating. You never know what you will see at any time of the day. They all look alike and sometimes are miles apart. Sorry about the pic quality these were taken at highway speed through dirty windows.

Love the pics DC and your positive attitude, but it's getting hotter before it gets cooler.  The only thing good about August in Texas is the anticipation of fall and purchasing my hunting/fishing license.

My son and I were on same road last week and I thought they could take snowplow sign down. Made the corner and guess what was coming down the road? The rain every afternoon was great! We got to Ruidoso early and went to Lucy's to grab early lunch. Went to Rio Grande Brewery one evening and had few to many craft beers! Weather was great break form home but knew I had to return to this.
Brayden (Lazy L's Southern Comfort) you will be missed! You were more than a pet you were my reason to rise and return for many days! You were my rock!
