4-Hunters, All of us have harvested 150 class deer. So looking for quality. We are not partiers. Lost our Ranch NW of Albany. Owners sold Ranch. Would prefer something with living accommodations on-site.

That's a fairly high standard, sounds like you're looking for some legitimate trophy hunting. May help if you indicate your desired lease size and price point. Good luck to you.

You will be hard pressed to find that kind of hunting in this area for 2000-2500 a gun.

THF, What I have found in my 35 plus years of Hunting all over the State, is that people like our bunch are few and far between. We have gone years and not pulled the trigger, we slip in and slip out, we are clean, very quiet and very serious about taking care of the lessors land like it was our own. We think this is worth a couple of dollars per acre to a landowner who places high value on his game & land resources. We do understand that most places are $10 and above and would consider that cost if the place is Right! We just need someone to meet with us and hear us out. We don't mind fixing a gate, filling some ruts or mending fences either. Just need someone to give us a try!

I understand what your saying Steve. Land owners do appreciate good hunters like that. There just isn't nearly as much land for lease as there was in the last 35 years. Most land is hunted by the landowners nowadays, or their family. Most landowners that lease nowadays, in my opinion, get good hunters & top dollar. There are probably dozens (or more) hunters per available lease now, landowners can pick & choose who they want, at top dollar. Your asking for landowners to meet & hear you out, most don't have time for that. Almost anyone with quality hunting & living quarters on site, will be hunting it themselves.

In my opinion, your going to have to hit every town out west that you would like to hunt. Go by every feedstore, coffee shop, cafe, whorehouse, outhouse, & hen house. Stop by every farm or ranch you see someone out working on fences or equipment, & ask them personally they know of any leases. I would think its gonna take alot time on your part, but it's not impossible. Good luck to you sir. I'd you find a place, please check back & let everyone know.

Thanks Maximus for your input. We could go without living quarters on-site. Being that we do not have travel trailers we are forced to stay in a motel or a few times we have rented/leased a local home. But at that time we were a larger group. PS I really like your forum here, well done! Keep your powder dry!

Keep at it Steve and be ready to move should something that remotely interests you come up! Leases are in high, high demand and have been for several years!

Also, be very leery of some of the leasing agents; things are often not what they appear to be. Many on here have firsthand stories they can share with you related to just that.

Congratulations, you did well. I didn't think the price you were willing to pay was unreasonable at all. I hunt in Foard County, and have learned that a little farther west, which is where you are, the price per acre drops a bit. Plus, that's a great area. I have friends that hunt near there, and they have big white tails and mule deer. Good things come to good hunters. Ya'll have a good season.

An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

Thanks for the well wishes. We have hunted around Crowell also. There are some big deer there too!
Good luck to you!
