I read that the fed's framework will allow for two pinners again. It also read that there would be two cans allowed in all flyways.
Does the state always take the max or might they lower that to the one can we're used to having?

Texas does not always take the max. The state did not take the max allowed with geese when the feds first raised it, but they always have gone with the max with ducks as best as I can remember.

I still have not shot a dang can. Just got some can deeks couple years ago, had some chances, seems I'm always wanting to pick out a good one and end up with none.

I still have not shot a dang can. Just got some can deeks couple years ago, had some chances, seems I'm always wanting to pick out a good one and end up with none. I have a spare in the freezer if you need one.

This hen is my son's first big duck. Rolled her up at full speed at 30 yards with a 2.75" 20 gauge shot, couldn't believe it.   I got the drake the same hunt so Birdworks did them together. I do have another one done by a buddy that was trying to get into taxidermy. It came out a lot like yours...

That flying pair is awesome. I never do pairs since I never shoot hens.

I had to pass on so many Cans last year due to the one bird a day limit. It seems like if you have a spot that Canvasbacks like, you tend to get a ton of them. I had hunts where I have had dozens and dozens, maybe even hundreds, of Cans decoy. Now that the overall population is improving, I hope the state does choose to go to a two Can limit.
