Had the 223 rebarreled. Old loads would not chamber. Pulled quite a few bullets - 40 grain Nosler BT's and 64 gr BSB's. Pretty much all of them have a mark on them from the RCBS Collet Puller. I have no personal history with reloading and shooting slightly 'modified' bullets. Any of you have experience on what I can expect if I try to use them when I get the rifle back?

i wouldn't shoot the wing off a gnat with them but otherwise they will be fine.... i ran some pulled for a 308 trainer once and noticed only a small degradation in performance inside of 800 yards.

To mirror what Dave said, you won't notice a big difference until you start trying to push them medium to long range.

Load some with your recipe and see what 5 do at 100 yards.

As soon as I get the rifle back, I'll work up loads for it. Once that's done, I'll try out the pulled bullets. I am interested in seeing how they shoot. If the accuracy is Ok inside of 200 to 250 yards, that's all I'll need.

What about buying CCI .22 shotshells, breaking the plastic to dump the BBs, then seating a Hornady 55 gr. FMJBT?

Shot pistol matches 20+ years ago with some guys that changed out the bullets in their 22 magnum loads with Sierra 52gr match bullets. One of them was a machinist that made his own dies to do that job. Lot of work to get a little more accuracy and heavier bullet.

They'll be fine.

At normal distances not much of an issue if any. A couple things that you can do that ive seen work for me regarding pulls and things of the sort. A.) Run them through your case polisher for a day or so. B.) Sort by weight. C.) Play with charge and seating depths. In all reality you might not gain a thing and maybe at best .25" its not really worth the hassle, but if wringing out every bit of accuracy is in your dna that will help and not hurt.

I have the rifle back, and I'm searching for the best load for the 40 gr Noslers (not the pulls). Once I find that load, and I think maybe I have (or at least I'm close to it), then I'll use the same powder charge under the pulls and see what happens. That might happen by Tuesday. If not, it'll be maybe the next Saturday or so. If I don't forget, I'll let ya'll know how it goes.

I agree with Dave. I'm shooting pulled 175 SMK out of my LR308. The bullets have significant pull marks and still shoot MOA out @ 400 which is the furthest I've been able to shoot it.
