Mine are 700 for big mature hinds. I can discount for multiple hunters.

You might check with the Longfellow Ranch in West Texas. They had some good pricing a year or two ago on cow elk hunts. They need to shoot a bunch of them.

Our hinds do go for $450 and we have a popular hind/whitetail doe combo at $550. We generally start hunting up again in October and would happily help you fill your freezer!

That sounds like a pretty good deal. I have a question for you. Just to clarify, the hind/whitetail combo doesn't require guide fees correct? If I wanted both animals quartered and caped it would be 75 per animal? Also, what is the typical weight of a hind?

Correct - There are no guide fees associated with our meat hunts. $75 is to quarter/cape per animal. The average meat yield for a hind is 175-225lbs and we'll always try get you on the upper range. With an early start we typically get both hind and whitetail done in the same day although it may be a long day of hunting. We do ask for a $100 reservation fee to book your meat hunt (been burned a few too many times with no-shows) - we have never had someone leave the ranch with an empty cooler. We have very large self sustaining herds of red deer and a large whitetail population and although a little leopard crawl may be necessary, we are confident of our ability to get you on an animal.

Mike guides most of our hunts and is always happy to chat to hunters in detail about their expectations and our operation. His direct number is 254 764 4334 and he can also be reached on hunt@wendyloureserve.com

Thanks for your interest.
