Just want some feedback.

I recently had a customer ask for a holster but he could not make up his mind if he wanted it with or without his light. I told him one day I was going to make a holster that had interchangeable lowers. I told my buddy my idea and thought it was ahead of its time, but he crushed my dreams by telling me gcode had already built it. Frustrated and butt hurt I realized they don't offer it on anything but their RTI mounts. So I decided to give it a go

And here it is. Weapon mount that you can change from light to no light. I was going to make it use snaps but they stick out to far. So I'll have to find something to interchange them quickly but 6 screws for now











So basically 6 screws and you can change from light to no light in about 1 min with six screws. (To much)

I guess would depend on economics/cost savings.

Still would be easier to just have two holsters.

That is awesome Matt, I never even dreamed of making something like that. I would probably buy one, what the cost you thinking on these?

A light equipped holster is around 70-85. A regular holster is 55-70. That all matters on the mounting hardware.

So I was thinking in the range to make it save the individual 20-30 bucks over buying two separate holsters

Do the screws hit the slide?

Is there more rubbing than a normal holster?

That's a pretty significant savings. I think it would go over well.

Your holsters have become so much nicer looking and form fitting than the first one I got from you, but it's still working perfectly.

I think it's a good idea, and I can see the benefits.

What about taking this a step further and letting the customer pick their mounting style, say paddle holster, and make the scabbard part interchangeable. Buy one paddle, then certain scabbards, say 1 for the Glock, 1 for the Sig, and 1 for the 1911, and they can change between but only need one paddle.

Great idea. I carry with a White Hat holster (Crossbreed style) and they offer a similar option where you can buy just the $23 kydex for different guns, so you only have to buy one full holster for $60-80. I only have one leather backing (paddle), and switch out the kydex for different guns. This is one of the main reasons I went with White Hat, so I could see these holsters really selling well for you.

This really IS a dang good idea! Once you get used to a certain paddle, just change the plastic part that holds the gun. Then when you swap guns, swap the plastic part and stay comfortable and not have to break another paddle in! Genius!
