Cdoz35 saw three BWT land on his pond this morning here in Abilene.

Sure is really early.

X2 they are always around the panhandle. Saw several pairs today scouting, even saw a hen ruddy with 6 babies.

There have been a pile of them on the baseball fields across from Wendy's /Home Depot in Abilene ever since the rain.

There are always a batch on south end of Kirby in July.

Seems to be many, many more early this year.

saw a wad of about 15 going to roost Friday evening. Had quite a few that hung around well into may and june, but hadn't saw a bird since june 18th. Very early arrivals or some that hung around. Normally isn't until the mid -later part of august before I start seeing any that Im convinced are migrators

Saw the first big groups last year on July 31st in the rice and some DU tanks.

We usually don't start really looking until mid August.

I had a dozen on my lease last week. Early birds for sure. We need one more good rain before season.
