Just wanted to pass along some discounted hunts that remain for 2015 along with a high success wolf hunt.
SE Colorado Mule Deer – 3rd rifle season - landowner voucher included. This one will be sold to either a single hunter or a group of two. Season dates are October 31 – November 8. Later in the season is better for rut activity. The hunter(s) will have 2 primary properties (2000 acres) and another large back-up property to hunt. The guide has been seeing one trophy buck this summer (high, heavy, deep forks) on one ranch and several respectable bucks on another. No one will have hunted two of the properties before this hunt. 5 day hunt includes 1x1 or 2x1 guiding (if two book together), meals and hotel lodging. Price is $3750 (normally $4700). This hunt will provide an opportunity to kill a very good muley at a very low price considering the landowner voucher is included in the price.
NW Colorado Elk Hunt #74-E – Private ranch hunts. Two openings for the first week of archery, two openings for the last week of archery and two openings for 4th rifle season. All three of these hunts have historically been 90-100% shot opportunity. Hunters may also buy a cow elk tag and kill a cow for no additional fee.
Archery - First week - 5 day hunt - $3850 (normally $4950) August 29 - September 2. Hunting methods include sitting over wallows and waterholes and some calling. Elk are undisturbed and on a daily routine. This week has always been a good producer and is often overlooked.
Archery – Last week - 5 day hunt - $4150 (normally $4950) September 19-23. If you want rutting action and screaming bulls, this is the week for that. Additional days may be added at the end if needed for $300 / day. Booked
4th Rifle Season – 5 day hunt - $4950 - November 11-15. One of the top rifle hunts at this location. The ranches’ resident herds are supplemented by new elk migrating in.
Archery licenses are over the counter and 4th rifle has leftover tags (available Aug. 4). Includes meals, lodging, 2×1 guiding, airport pick and drop off, field care of your animals and delivery to processor.
SE Colorado Archery Antelope – If you are looking for a trespass hunt with a lot of acreage, look no further. Only $750 per hunter, over the counter licenses, good antelope population, 20,000 acres, can hunt up to 10 consecutive days and camp on the ranch. The ranch has year round water via stock ponds and a water channel that runs through it.
The price does not include meals, lodging or guiding. A guide will show you around the ranch prior to the hunt and check in periodically. Motel lodging is within 15 minutes of the ranch. Hunters may also camp on the ranch property. The season runs August 15 - September 20. We need a minimum of two hunters to book this hunt and due to the large acreage, we could handle a larger group. If you like a challenge and want an unmolested large private ranch to hunt, this would be a good choice.
I did a recon trip there last week and got to see about half of the ranch. We saw at least 15 antelope bucks including one trophy class buck. The animals are there, it is up to you to close the deal.
British Columbia Wolf Hunt #30-WF – If a wolf is on your hit list, this hunt could be just what you are looking for. Many wolf hunts can be brutally cold sitting in pop up blinds or out in the open. That is not the case on this hunt as hunting is out of permanent blinds that have heat, sliding windows and even beds. The blinds are located near active bait sites.
Last winter 8 hunters hunted wolves here and all 8 got shooting. 7 day hunt $4000 for 2x1 guiding or $5000 for 1x1 guiding. Also includes meals, lodging, airport pick up (Cranbrook) and skinning of your wolf.
If you have questions about any of the above hunts, or any hunts you may be kicking around, please email or call via a post or PM.
