All the posts of late about Garands reminded me to post some pics of my latest. I picked up this Garand at the South Store on D-Day. Its a Springfield field grade. Muzzle erosion 1, throat erosion 3. It came in a nice HRA 3/8" DoD stamped stock but I traded it for the nice birch stock its in now. I love the look of the birch. I don't really know how its a field grade as its really nice, though it does have some finish wear on the exposed barrel and gas cylinder.   - thedoveshooter

Good looking Garand. I had an all original HRA with a birch stock set from the CMP that i still regret letting go.

Finally shot her yesterday. Nice tight group at 50 yards. The trigger is pretty rough, but that can be fixed. My HRA's trigger is a crisp 4.5 lbs. Once I get this one there she'll be a tack driver!
