I have a Remington nylon 66 black diamond that has been well used. I got this from a friend ending a marriage needing cash to eat many years ago. It is missing the front sight, (easily replaceable from Numrich or ebay,) but it also is missing the rear sight. If you know anything about Nylon 66s the rear sight was not one of Remington's better ideas. They attached it to the front of the stamped steel receiver pinned with a rivet at the front, a screw to lock wind-age on the back of the sight, and a miserable coarse threaded adjustment screw for elevation. I feel it would be well worthwhile getting a william's peep for the receiver or leave the scope that is on it now. The rifle shoots quite well and is very light. I was going to give it to my granddaughter but I don't want her with a semi for her first rifle with the ejection port on the wrong side for a lefty. The rifle is in Grapevine and as for the price I'm negotiable on the options of sell or trade. The black diamond is supposedly rare but missing the original sights will definitely detract from the price. It doesn't get much use over the 10/22 or the 9422 winchester. I'm looking to trade it for a decent shot gun like a M37 ithaca or a 500 series Mossberg, or a partial trade towards a decent 45. I've ordered a rifle for my granddaughter so I guess I can price it at 265.00/obo. So if you got the bug to get a black diamond for your collection then give me a call @ 817-421-9519.
I don't mind splitting the difference driving within reason for a FTF meeting to swap for something interesting.
I forgot to mention the only way I'll ship is from my FFL to your FFL and I'll add the costs in addition to the rifle. I'm a stickler on being legally able to own a weapon so if we meet FTF be prepared to prove it. I also will not sell through an interpreter and will require you to sign a bill of sale with your Texas DL number or CHL number. I prefer the CHL. I also will take a picture of you so if you're camera shy please don't reply. I have no problem doing these things for others and feel it is not an imposition for you. I'd hate to think someone would tie a body for the wrong reasons to a weapon I once owned.
In response to recent comments concerning identity theft I have no interest in taking pictures of your driver's license. I also really don't want your picture but I do it to protect myself and not to sell to someone from a third world country who may use it to stack bodies in a school or shopping center. I was taught that silence is compliance and if you don't set your standards out then there is no one to blame if someone takes advantage of you. A FTF meeting will probably be sufficient but I have encountered people at a gun show, standing at the front door and inside, that I would not sell a weapon to or even let them look at the one I was walking around.
I don't have to sell this weapon. I will only advertise on this forum because I like what it represents and the people that frequent the site seem committed to hunting and taking care of the resources we enjoy in the state of Texas. If you are afraid I might exploit your identity then pass by the ad. If your are interested then send a PM and let's meet. Either way thanks for looking!
