Hey guys so I have these Vortex scopes in stock: Razor HD 5-20x50 EBR-2B MRAD and Viper PST 2.5-10x32 FFP EBR-1 MOA. I have been getting a lot of calls about these units. I haven't had time to take either of these to the range and was hoping that maybe you guys could shed some light on how they operate in the field so I can give more "in action" information to my customers. Thanks for any information, and PM me if your interested, I love to offer great deals to forum friends!

What do you want to know? The Razor has decent glass, is built like a tank and mine tracks well. Kinda heavy but works fine.

Im just looking for some personal experiences and overall satisfaction ratings. Just want to get a feel for what people think. Its one thing to have them in a store room but another to put a take them out and see how they do.

So those are really different scope. The 2.5-10 has good glass for the money. I think it's the ideal mid range scope. I would put on an ar or hunting gun with no hesitation.

The 5-20 has better glass. But it is a bit older. That is their gen 1 line. The new gen 2 line has more features but more money.

I have the 2.5-10. I want either the gen 1 or 2 razor.

Introducing yourself may be a good idea if you are going to try and sell stuff smile

Totally forgot to mention some personal info, still new to forums. My name is Phillip, I work out in California (sucks in terms of shooting/owning). A buddy of mine moved out to Texas and works on a ranch and suggested I check out the THF and make some friends! Figured I could come on and see what I can do to help you guys with these hogs! (Nothing like that where I am from) I carry a large line of NV and thermal scopes as well as daytime.

Can I ask on which rifle and what would be the typical usage? I'm just curious on which application is needed to have $2000 scope :-)

To the OP. Are you marketing scopes (new or used), or are you asking questions about how best to use scopes that you now own?

I do sell scopes. But in regards to these scopes I have not had a chance to see them in action and won't be able to for awhile (being in CA) so I was hoping to get some insight on how they perform just so I can properly inform my customers. Learning the pros and cons of them basically.

Anybody who wants a high quality optic on their rifle.

A different way to ask your question is what are some of the advantages of the razor over other scopes in their series:
Better glass. This will lead to clearer images especially at dusk and dawn
Large objective diameter. More light. This provides benefits in low light situations
Turrets. Mil or Moa allow for precise dialing for increased accuracy
Build quality. Designed to take a bump or two

Most people buying high dollar scopes to tend shoot longer distances and change distances frequently. Generally competition shooters but some hunters use them too

So you bought some scopes you didn't know about and are hoping to sale them?

Btw what is the name of your company? do you have a website? Do you work with other forums? Why would I buy from you when I don't know much about you? What is your sales price?

No I did not buy them, I just started working for a company and like I said haven't had any live use with these units. A spec sheet can tell me the basics but I like to have more real insight. The company I work for is Night Vision Guys (http://www.nightvisionguys.com). I got on this forum per suggestion from my friend and I do not work with any other forums, like I said I'm new to the forum thing so I apologize if I am not providing the info properly. For pricing just give me a call and a unit your interested in and I will see what I can do.631 546 7383.

No need to apologize....

think about it this from our end. You make an account here, say you are thinking about sailing some mid range to high end equipment, but we don't really know you. I would be hesitant to give you money for a scope because for that.

Thanks for your website. I will poke around on it for a bit. I would recommend adding some posts (feedback, obersavtions, notes, product announcements). We have numerous threads on the X sight here...

The other thing of note...There are two version of the Gen 1 razor, one with 5MRAD turns and one with 10MRad turns. The 10Mrad is the newer one and commands a higher price.

One day i want a clip on thermal scope....but today is not that day

Why are the clip-on thermals so expensive?

Viper PST is a very good starter scope for someone getting into precision shooting. They are a tad less money than some other routes, have good glass, and have shown to track well, they also have a very serviceable reticle. They are more suiting to crossing into hunting than the Razor in my opinion, due to their lightweight construction as compared to the Razor.

Razor is built to withstand more abuse than Viper PST. The glass is slightly clearer and having 10 Mils per rev on Gen II is a big plus. They are still extremely popular among P.R.S. shooters.

The top two items of any scope of this type are tracking and glass clarity. For me they are dead even in importance.

Most of them are made in the US. The technology is fairly new and the cost of these items has actually dropped in price in the last 10 years or so. Most of the expense comes from the required technology needed. On top of this most come with Germanium optics and FLIR camera cores.
