Hey guys!
I am wanting to get a new gun safe under $600. Would like it to hold at least 20 guns.
Sam's Club has a Stack-on Total Defense 28 gun safe for $549. Looks like a pretty good deal for the money.
Does anybody know of a better deal/safe?
Thanks!

We looked at the Stack-On Elite at Nebraska Furniture and it was loaded with features.

There is only one real important consideration when looking at gun safes in my opinion, and that is the fire rating. How long and how hot? Most of them are all about the same and they give you a 30 minute fire rating. The better ones will go an hour. The locking mechanism, the thickness of the door and how well you can bolt it down are all kind of the same thing. All of them will keep a thief out who isn't a trained pro. None of them will keep a pro out. We had a rating when I was with the State Department as an Embassy Marine of how long a lock was rated to keep a pro out. They are all rated in seconds. Since nobody here is looking to keep out trained professionals, then they all work pretty good. Crack heads and those looking to sell what they can get quickly for drugs are the most likely candidates to break into your house. Delaying them with a decent quality door is all that you can hope for, and this is where they are all pretty much the same.

Just remember that it will only hold about 1/3 of the advertised guns. Scopes take up a lot of room.

Very true. I recently bought a real nice redhead safe from bass p s. It's a "18"gun safe....more like 10/12. Just remember that it will only hold about 1/3 of the advertised guns. Scopes take up a lot of room. ^^^ This is a fact

My buddy had a top of the line fire rated safe 1250 degrees for 30- 45min. When his place burnt to the ground the FD hit the safe with water and it steamed his guns. All were ruined. The stocks became extremely swollen and the barrels warped..
In God we trust, all others we run through NCIC.

High end safes seal shut in a fire to block out moisture.
