Was surfing the 'net, my escape from ducking the outdoor honey-do's until the heat breaks... and discovered Sierra has finally now listed a 130 gr .264 & 140gr .284 BTHP on the same design as the deep penetrating .308.
They are using the same harder than normal lead formula to hold the bullet together ala the 30 cal's, and show mid 300 BC's in the 6.5 with Speed Parameter changes in the BC. I spent most of my time looking at and thinking about applications for the 6.5 bullet and was pleasantly surprised to see it rated for magnum MV's. Should be about Perfect for 264 Wmg's, 6.5x284's & 6.5'06s on bigger critters.
Graf had'em in stock too for around $37.50 per 100 ct in the 6.5's. Ron

RC this has always been their answer for a bonded bullet...in 308 dia's...and now available in 130gr 264's, my favorite 'tweener weight in Swede' & 260's, and 140gr'ers in 284's...again the best compromise weight IMO for the 7Rmg's down to 7-08/7x57's.
YES I unnerstand it does not have a +500BC for +600 yard app's, an those 1% of folks ain't the target market for this bullet.
I'd bet these bullets will put a bigtime hurt on Elk sized critters though WITHIN their BC Parameters but still capable of withstanding Mag MV's and in close impacts too. Ron

What is the name associated with this bullet? I don't think I have ever even heard of the 308. As far as hunting bullets go im fond of sierras prohunters. Other than varmits or paper punching I doubt I ever load any of their other listings.

Yup, Syncerus got it right. Sierra's stock code is #1728 & shown as a GameKing in the Home Page product list....and are shown In Stock at Graf's for ? $37+ 100ct's.
Read the bullet details description in Sierra's Home Page... these work gooder than some other stuff I've used on critters too.
Sorry about not picking this thread backup sooner, been busy with family and outta town. August is gonna be a Bwitch with everything going on, but it looks like we've dodged a serious bullet the way things have worked out. TMI here for sure & mebbe forever....just don't let Wells Fargo Bank in your life though. Ron

That bullet actually came out last year prior to deer season. I bought a box They were very accurate in my 264. According to the Sierra tech on their 800 number, it is better suited for slower cartridges. Never got a change to try it on Bambi.

JJH ...THATS good to know...but then I'm planning on them being run at 260 MV's for the foreseeable future...unless we hit paydirt that I don't know about yet. Ron

keep us updated, I "think" I loaded some in my 7mm-08 last year and they were very accurate, as most Sierra's are
