For some reason, I want one. narrowed down to the tried and true Sig P238 and the "new" Kimber Micro. I prefer the 1911 "style".

I have watched a ton of YouTube vids on the Sig but not too much on the Kimber.

Anyone own the Kimber yet?? Thumbs up or down?

They both look cool, lots of models to choose from.

Also, would you opt for a laser grip on this gun?

Thanks

Girlfriend has had the Sig 238 since Christmas this year. It has proven to be very dependable with a decent trigger pull and excellent sights. She does like the extended magazine which also adds one round. After shooting the 238 I bought a 938 for myself. No experience with the lasers or Kimbers.

I have 3 380
Walther pk 380
ruger lcr 380
Bersa Thunder 380
With the new types of ammo you can get
now they are impressive.
low recoil and shoot really fast.
Don't think you really need a laser on a pistole that would be used at such a close distance.

I have the 238 and the 938. (They both fit into the same holster). I pocket carry the 238 a lot during the summer because it is so light. My wife usually carries it to her work.

BTW the 238 is really easy to shoot and my wife shoots it better than I can. I suspect that is because her hands are smaller than mine so she can grip it better than I can.

Nothing wrong with 380. It goes bang and you can put most of them in your pocket so I wouldn't worry about the P accusations buzz.

I'm a fan of the 238 myself. It's a great little gun, regardless of which model you choose. Now, if you choose the rainbow with flowers engraved, we might have to talk roflmao

There is some solid ammo available for the .380 these days. I've considered getting one for pocket carry too, OP. The first round you put in a criminal may not kill him but it's going to give him serious pause about continuing his efforts.

I carry a Bersa Thunder CC. I like it and it's full of truly nasty ammo. Custom grips make it fit my big paw very well. I could carry a more expensive 380 but I think of my carry gun as a one time use weapon and then give it to the man. Why give him my beautiful Walther 380 when the Bersa will get the job done.?

I run HydraShock in mine. Whatever y'all choose, be sure to shoot it and practice with it and then shoot it some more. Use the ammo you intend to carry to practice.

Ive got a Ruger 380, its slim and you cant even tell when its in my pocket. I carry it on bike rides too. Ive got a giant dog that looks like the abominable snow man on Rudolf the red nose rain deer that like to chase me. One day he ay get the bullet. I also had a dude in a blue sports car that thinks its funny to try and see how close he can get to me while biking. He drove across the oncoming lane and flew through the ditch that I was going to dive into, but he was going so fast that he beat me to it. If he tries it again, Ive got a surprise for him. He almost took me out going about 50 mph. I set a road block up the next day and waited for him at the same exact time, but he never showed. I set brush in the road, so that every car that went down that back road would have to stop and move it. I was waiting in the bushes, and I wasn't holding a 380. up

Recently got a gym membership, strange folks! I like to show up the roid zombies with my full motion curls with the 55lb. bells. Not their cheater short stroked light weights. It's holarious.

That little .380 will beat the "macho man's" .45 if yours is in your pocket and his is in his truck because it's too heavy to carry.

My BIL loaded me up a few hundred round with these. I'm set for a long while.

I met an established, older gentleman one time in a pawn-shop I frequent. This gentleman happens to be an FFL holder and 1911 collector/aficionado. We struck up a conversation, and regarding what to carry, he pulled out an ivory-gripped Sig Sauer .380 I'm not particularly a fan of 1911 style guns in that size, and for pocket purposes, but that man must have though well of the gun to carry it, and with real ivory to boot! As for me, I have a Kel-Tec P-3AT that I'm happy with whenever I want something of that size and caliber.

Have fun, be safe.

I hear you there! I love my 238 and have a crimson trace laser on it. It is very easy to throw in the pocket and go about your business. My wife is super accurate with it and we have never had an ammo feed issue, even with the many different types we have tried. I couldn't be happier with the purchase. It is a great "summer" gun for your shorts and flip flops.

I got some inside info on a home invader that was shot by the home owner. He had a 380. One shot with the Hornady rd. The M.E. said the damage was absolutely devastating.

I've seen where the Hornady XTP round is in the top 2 rounds for this caliber. Hoping to get to Big Town for the Gun show this weekend and feel them all

I sell a lot of 238s and 938s. I have 2 models in stock of 238s, I order all of them with Sig nite sights.
I will be at Big Town stop in and put them in your hand. I also stock the +1 extended mag, it's a extra 1/2 of grip, it changes the feel of them in your hand. The Sports 12 238 comes with a 6rd and a 7rd mag(extended)
